Unblock your Chakras - Energy Centres; is it a way to healthy and happy life? Part 1

Astrologically speaking chakras are energetic portals for the consciousness of the main seven planets that represent the main seven chakras. Chakras are funnel-shaped vortexes of energy that contain their unique orientations. Thus, you can see your own body as an individual universe. When chakras are blocked then illnesses are manifested but there are ways to balance chakras. Hatha Yoga, pranayama, crystals, Reiki, and some astrological remedies can help to unblock chakras and bring harmony and health to your life. Why do not you try and see if it works?

Element: Earth

The seed mantra: LAM

Nature of consciousness: physical needs, self-preservation

The root Chakra is responsible for stability, survival, basic needs, elimination, and excretion (the lungs, skin, kidneys, large intestine, and rectum). Material monetary existence, food, shelter, love, emotional stability, physical set-up, strength, and stamina. It gives you the drive to wake up in the morning and work. Allows you to focus, be disciplined, healthy and aware of your limits.

The unbalanced root chakra leads to problems with the lower abdomen e.g., constipation, diarrhoea, haemorrhoids, kidneys, sciatica, and back pain. Furthermore, it may make you feel off centre and living in a fantasy world, hard to focus, go out of control easily, hard to contain your feelings, trying to keep a hold over others or being excessively materialistic, and not able to let go things emotionally etc. You may get into workaholism, have less creative power, and not enjoy life. In extreme cases, you become aggressive, stubborn, selfish, self-serving, self-centred, materially and emotionally possessive, your fear stops you from achieving your goals.

The balanced root chakra leads to good general health. Your kidneys, bowel, and adrenal glands are healthy, you have a healthy reaction to stress and are not exhausted from overstimulation. You are cheerful, self-confident, enthusiastic, have a strong will to live, a clear sense of identity, and trust in others. You are not overly attached to material possessions and work and have a life-work balance thus material success comes quite easily. You can balance the root chakra by getting enough sleep and rest when tired, do a foot massage, eating regularly and not skipping meals. The balanced root chakra balances other chakras.

The sexual chakra governs the lower abdominal, reproductive, urinary, and circulatory systems, impotence, STD, and bladder problems. On a mental level governs the integration of knowledge, the way the brain takes in and stores information, and the assimilation of knowledge.

The unbalanced sexual chakra leads to emotional eating, feelings of guilt, anxiety, unpredictability, clinging on to relationships, and problems with separating own feelings from those of others and with giving or receiving materially, and emotionally which may cause obesity. Blockages in this energy centre may lead to a low level of energy and a lack of creativity. There may be too much or too little sexual desire, outrageous flirting or using sex to gain attention, and entrapment in an unhealthy pattern of seeking sensual pleasure.

When the sexual chakra is balanced you are outgoing, patient, content with yourself and comfortable with your own sexuality. You have a good sense of humour, a positive attitude and enjoy life. You can well govern the attraction of the opposite sides and creatively solve problems. Thus, even if people disagree with you, you can work out it complementary.

You can balance the sexual chakra by practising pranayama with long exhalations. This type of pranayama helps to let go of emotions, also, you may try a Rolfing massage that releases memories from your body tissue.

Planet: Mars/Mangal

Zodiac: Aries & Scorpio

Element: Fire

Crystals: Gold, Citrine, Tiger’s Eye, Yellow Jasper

The seed mantra: RAM or you can meditate on empowerment

Affirmation: ‘I move towards my goals smoothly and enjoyably.’

Nature of consciousness: projection of personality, willpower, drive

The solar-plexus chakra is known as the ‘abdominal brain’ and is the main storage house for storing prana in the physical body for physical activities. Similarly, to battery storage that stores electricity, the solar-plexus stores prana (the ‘life energy) while you breathe. The solar-plexus chakra governs the digestive system and related organs including the liver, stomach, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, and the organs of excretion. Also, is responsible for emotions, actions, power and willpower, your level of comfort with power, and your sense of personal power. When someone blows over your solar-plexus chakra you will lose consciousness. This shows the power of the solar-plexus chakra.

The unbalanced solar-plexus chakra makes you feel powerless, easily swayed by the opinions of others, you may have low self-esteem, uncontrolled strong emotions such as violent passion, jealousy, anger and frustration, doubts, fear and confusion, or tendencies to manipulate others. You may have obsessive characteristics, the tendency to have an addictive personality, a lack of assertiveness, feeling powerless, victimised, and you are at risk of running out of emotional steam. Also, apathy and lethargy can cause your energy to turn in on itself and make you want to withdraw from life. You may be overcritical of yourself, which may lead you to lose the ability to connect and be nourished by your surroundings. Low self-esteem makes you doubt yourself, and you can suffer self-recrimination.

The unbalanced fiery energy, when you have too much fire makes you feel hot, avoid spicy food, want cold drinks, cannot sit still or be quick-tempered, and when you have too little fire it makes you feel cold, craving hot, spicy food and drinks, or feel slow and lethargic. Moreover, you may have ulcers, upset stomach, diabetes, hypoglycaemia, alcoholism, a tight and hard belly, a large potbelly, or a sunken diaphragm.

The balanced solar-plexus chakra gives a great deal of energy, a warm body and fast metabolism. This energy brings an enthusiasm for work, play, development, and transformation in life, you will feel bright and extroverted, and clear-thinking. You use your power constructively, and your internal willpower creates proactive assertive and confident qualities. You have healthy self-esteem and consciously control positive changes as opposed to passively waiting or wishing for something great to happen. You are self-motivated, self-accepting and have an inner strength that allows you to act with ease and grace.

Zodiac: Taurus & Libra

Element: Air

Crystals: Aventurine, Jade, Pink Quartz, Amazonite, Malachite

The seed mantra: Yam

Affirmation: ‘My heart opens with love to all beings’

Nature of consciousness: compassion, harmony, union with others

The heart chakra governs the heart, the circulatory and respiratory systems, the breast, chest, and shoulders, and deals with social awareness, love, openness, a sense of devotion, peace, forgiveness, acceptance, kindness, and joy. This chakra is less about materialism and sex, and more about a conceptual integration of the self into social communities without losing the sense of self and breaking out of the limitations of your ego.

The unbalanced heart chakra may lead to heart conditions, high blood pressure, respiratory conditions, asthma and arthritis of the arms, conditional love; ‘something for something, confusing sex with love, imposing your will on others, manipulation, lack of empathy, arrogance, selfishness, or total selflessness, where you are an underdog, sad and depressed.

The balanced heart chakra gives a healthy heart and circulation, sustains health, peace, joy and unconditional love to all, more balanced relationships, openness, no fear of being vulnerable, and harmony between material, and emotional aspects of life. Your emotions are free but stable. Love is the healing energy thus the heart chakra is the healing centre.

This is the end of part 1 about chakras, next week I will write about Visuddha Chakra - Throat Chakra, Ajna Chakra – Third Eye Chakra and Sahasrara Chakra – Crown Chakra.

Meantime you may do an experiment: choose intuitively crystals, each for a chakra. Pick a crystal for each chakra based on its colour e.g., the heart chakra is green so you can get any green crystal. Then light candles, play relaxing music, lay down, and relax for an hour. Repeat it for a week. I wonder about your experience, let me know, leave a comment, or drop me a message.
